Course Description
When Canadian author Alice Munro was awarded the 2013 Nobel Prize in Literature, it only cemented what many readers and writers already know: the short story is alive and well.
This course is designed for motivated writers interested in developing their short fiction within a supportive and instructive context. Whether you're a novice writer or a more established writer seeking a structured environment in which to kickstart a stalled project, this course will provide you with opportunities both to produce new work and to improve existing drafts.
Classes will include discussions of craft based on exemplary short works, reading and writing exercises, and the exchange of thoughtful critique of each other's work.
