Course Description
Community engagement through academic work and service learning. Volunteer experience in non-profit and charitable organizations. Engagement with diverse populations and practice of intercultural communication. Guided reflection on issues related to social, political, and cultural aspects of community engagement. Major themes covered include culture and cultural patterns, identity, values, beliefs and norms, responsible citizenship, and societal influences on community engagement.
