Course Description
This self-directed course is designed to provide participants with an overview of the development of the Commonwealth, the role of parliament in modern society, how Parliaments carry out their functions, the role of the Speaker and other presiding officers, and the participation of women in parliament. It will also include an introduction to parliamentary procedure with a discussion of rules governing debate and the passing of legislation.
