Course Description
Technical translation from English to French focusing on transportation. Emphasis on terminology, phraseology and the inner workings of mechanical engineering, civil engineering and architecture. Study of the translation problems specific to these texts, as well as the various strategies, appropriate resources and tools used to mitigate them. Translation exercises will focus on technical texts related to machinery, machine tools and vehicles, as well as physical structures (bridges, tunnels, subways, ports and airports).
